The association's policies on membership, fees, attendance and conduct.
Communication
Our primary channels are this website and email at info@chlgagolf.com. The site carries news, membership fees, application forms, game schedules, tournament results and handbook information. Members are encouraged to visit frequently.
Membership
Membership is open to all women amateur golfers who play regularly. Professional golfers may join but cannot compete for gross and net prizes.
New members
Accepted year-round, with full annual fees regardless of when in the season you enrol. Requirements are:
- A current official handicap index, or proof of 10 or more rounds in the past 12 months
- Basic knowledge of golf rules and etiquette
- The ability to maintain pace of play
All new members are required to complete the Membership and Waiver form upon enrolment.
Returning members
A returning member is an active member from the previous season who renews before March 1st of the current season.
All returning members must sign the waiver and update their contact information with the Membership Registrar.
Withdrawal before April 1st carries an administration fee equal to 10% of the annual membership fee. No refunds are issued for withdrawals after April 1st.
The committee reserves the right to terminate a membership at any time.
Deposit
A $50 deposit is required from each member.
Membership on hold
Members may place their membership on hold for a maximum of 2 years, with a $25 yearly administration fee deducted from the deposit.
Green fees
Payment by email money transfer to chlgaont@gmail.com is required by the stated due date.
Guests
Guests pay the green fee plus $10, plus dinner costs where applicable. They may take part in team competitions only.
Punctuality
Members should arrive 30 minutes before game time and report to the ChLGA Starter, then to the course starter 5 minutes before tee time.
Local rules will be applied for late tee offs and missing holes.
Cancellations and no-shows
- Before the tee sheet is posted — full credit less a $10 administration fee
- After the tee sheet is posted — no refund
- No show — no refund
Inclement weather
The Course Coordinator determines playability. Members should proceed to the course unless notified by WhatsApp. Where conditions are uncertain, the committee evaluates before play begins.
A game requires 9 completed holes to count officially. See Holes not played in the local rules for how to score the holes that were not played.
Where the golf course gives out full or partial refunds or rain checks, members will receive their share accordingly. Where full 18-hole rain checks are given to all players, ChLGA will try to reschedule the game before the next game date. If no alternative date is available, that incomplete game will not be officially counted.
Cell phones
Phones must be off during play. Members expecting an important call need their teammates' consent and must use silent mode.
Putting contest
Players reaching double par plus one stroke on any hole must pick up, forfeiting putting rights.
One foot “gimme”
A ball within one foot of the hole is considered holed, counting as one stroke.
Dinner
Presentations and dinner begin at 6:30 p.m., with open seating.
